This map shows the property of the Agates. The John Agate family lived on 27 North Main Street. They lived near the Erie Canal in the Village of Pittsford. William and John Agate owned a Brewery. The property was bought in 1863 from Franklin and Luzetta M C Decker.

The 3 Agate brothers bought the land then split it apart in 3 sections. One part was for John, another part was for William, and the last part of the property was for their business. The Brewery and William Agate's house were torn down because they needed to expanded the Erie Canal due to the size of the boats that went on the canal. John Agate's house was not torn down because it was far enough away from the Erie Canal.
